Introducing Greenhouse Group
After many years of innovating, being a startup entrepreneur, a multinational intrapreneur, doing spinouts, spin-ins and being part of M&As I am thrilled to join forces with Olle Isaksson, the man who initially recruited me to Sweden in forming Greenhouse Group AB.
At Greenhouse Group we bring collectively over sixty years of experience and many battle scars from driving connected industries to help small and medium enterprises grow in what is often a hostile and competitive environment.
As a Senior Advisor I am available to help across a broad spectrum of areas, from product management through disruptive strategies around market penetration, marketing campaigns and PR. For many SMEs focused on the challenges of day-to-day operation, often a new set of eyes are needed to find a way to punches above your weight and accelerate market adoption and revenues.
As a proud Kiwi turned European citizen, I have also gone deep down the rabbit hole of the European Data Strategy which has significant impact on every connected industry. The next major compliance milestones for everyone working with connected devices are:
· Updates to the Radio Equipment Directive in August requiring significant beefing up of security on any new connected device or service. If you are not experts on Transport Layer Security you soon will be and if you are using highly constrained devices you will have a challenge on your hands.
· Enforcement of the Data Act in September requiring every legacy connected device in Europe or service to grant ownership of all collected data to the user and implement machine readable data sharing infrastructure.
· By September 2026 a broad portfolio of industry EU Data Spaces are required to be ratified, each with its own architecture and syntax for the sharing of connected device data. These architectures will form the technical basis for how any new product or service used within the EU will need to comply with the Data Act.
· By the end of 2026 every EU member state will need to have launched an EUID digital wallet service for identity and financial transactions. This will directly impact how user permissions around IoT data are handled and already the European Data Space for Smart Communities are trialling architectures that incorporate the EUID wallet as the permissions function within IOT device data sharing.
If you feel that any of this touches you then don’t hesitate to get in touch. Whether you are a data holder looking for help in compliance or a platform vendor with a solution to evolve, Greenhouse Group is ready to talk.
