EU ITS Action Plan

Olle's roles:

Invited representative in the EU ITS Advisory Group.

Elected member of the Board of ERTICO ITS Europe.

The challenge:

Early feedback to DG-Move on industry views on the need for ITS regulatory initiatives and implementations, and the importance of technology-neutral regulations.

Take a cross-sectoral approach to regulatory initiatives for complex multi-technology and community-centric needs.

The solution:

Involvement in EU-funded research and innovation programs for proof-points of own technology.

Collaboration in the Swedish ITS ecosystem and input to Swedish authorities and ministries for further influence in the EU.

Coordinated engagements with different parts of the European Commission (e.g. DG-Move, DG-Connect, DG-Resarch) for positioning the mobile digital infrastructure.

Results:

For example, the formation of the "5GAA" (5G Automotive Association) with members from all relevant stakeholder groups for connected vehicles and fleets.

Insights:

Resource-intensive long-term engagements that require close contact with current internal business strategy.
