The challenge
How mobile operators can capture developers on connection management platforms where it usually takes weeks to onboard a customer.
The solution
Created Connect Hub. A self-service platform that orchestrates the onboarding of B2B customers to the IoT Accelerator connection management system. Connect Hub offers true zero-touch onboarding of businesses via multiple digital channels, including an online store, sales representatives' mobile phones, AWS Marketplace and Azure Marketplace. Onboarding time for B2B customers is reduced from weeks to less than 75 seconds.
Results
Connect Hub is used globally by mobile operators worldwide to onboard small customers and developers to the Ericsson (now Aeris) connection management platform.
Lessons learned
There is a huge complexity in B2B onboarding. Automation is key to transforming B2B sales from high-touch, but you need to be careful that the effort required to code the automation does not exceed the cost of the manual alternative. Automation is usually applicable when a threshold of manual transaction volume is reached or when the time required to perform manual tasks is excessive. It is also crucial to understand the digitization maturity of your customers and not to exceed the limit.
